Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that getting a ticket or hiring a Civil Parking Enforcement company can be confusing. For this reason we have compiled a list of the more frequently asked questions.
For people who have received a ticket:
I have got a parking ticket - Why?
We are a civil parking enforcement company and are authorised to act on private land by the land owner or another person in authority over the land. We have been employed at various sites to prevent people parking other than in accordance with the land owners wishes.
If you have got a parking charge notice from us it can be for many reasons ranging from having an expired parking ticket to being in a no parking zone or parking outside of marked bays.
I got a parking ticket but I was only loading/unloading
Loading and unloading is only permitted on land controlled by us where clear "Loading and Unloading Only" signs are displayed. Any loading or unloading outside of these areas (if provided) are seen as a breach of the terms of the site and you will be issued a Parking Charge notice.
I was shopping in the shop when I got a ticket
We also operate many customer only car parks and if your vehicle was legitimately parked and you can prove you shopped only in the shop for whom parking is provided please contact us. You are not allowed to use any other premise whilst parking in "Customer Parking Only" bays. If you use any other sites you are parked against the terms and conditions of the site and again tickets are issued accordingly.
My Car was broken down when I got the ticket
CPS are a ethical company and if your vehicle was genuinely broken down at the time of ticket issue we will be happy to discuss this ticket with you. We will require you to show us recovery or breakdown attendance.
My Vehicle was damaged in your car park
Whilst we take every reasonable action to ensure the vehicles in our car park our kept safe and secure we cannot be held responsible for the vehicles and any contents thereof unless on a manned car park. If you feel we have damaged your car (this does not include placing PCN stickers on your car) then please Contact Us and we will try to resolve your issue.
I have a permit and my vehicle was ticketed
We know from experience that a permit will never stay where you put it. Our entire community parking service officers are required by company policy to check in both foot wells and on the seats in the front of a vehicle as well as the dashboard to look for any signs of a permit. If we cannot find a permit we will issue a ticket. It is the sole responsibility of the driver to ensure the permit is visible at all times.
My Boss/friend/uncle/other said i could park here
If your boss/friend/uncle/other told you to park in a location where you received a ticket maybe they would also be so kind as to pay your ticket? The vehicle is the responsibility of the driver and as such you are at fault if you disregard any signs and get a ticket.
